Installing the PCL5c driver resolves all these issues and is long-term stable. Their firmwares sort of look the same in the web interface, but IIRC someone pointed out that it’s actually 2 or 3 or more different companies providing the original equipment.

Nov 14, Posts: I have a few customers who ended up with the last hurrah of whatever piece of crap the Aficio MP and its brethen are, and holy crap the damned things are awful. While the device is in use you get “busy” errors, making the process take even longer.
We actually prefer Xerox to Ricoh for copier-type MFP’s, but I am not experienced enough to say what is or isn’t good in this area.

Xerox MFP type devices usually go along with the “pay extra money to license feature [x]” which you then enable via code entry and blammo, more features.

There’s no good way to do it other than to connect to each one individually, wipe out the old address book, and upload the new one. I can’t comment on how widespread the issue might be, as only 2 of 13 printers were rolled out with PCL6 in errorand they both had the same problem.
